The seaplane sightseeing tour of Halong Bay is operated by Hai Au Aviation with 8 flights per day, departing from Tuan Chau Island. Each flight has a flying time of 25 minutes and can carry a maximum of 12 passengers.

According to information from the airline, the seaplane used for sightseeing in Halong Bay is the Cessna Caravan C208B-EX, manufactured in 2014 and imported from the United States.

The Cessna Caravan C208B-EX seaplane is the largest single-engine aircraft and also the safest single-engine aircraft for taking off and landing on water, according to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

To be able to take off and land on water and operate in Halong Bay, the seaplane is equipped with two floats under the aircraft and inside the aircraft is the most advanced aviation equipment system, weather radar, storm tracking system, GPS system, etc.

In a recent press release, the airline stated that all flight operations, including the airline’s seaplane flights, are carried out in accordance with the safety standards set by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.

In addition, flights are only operated when fully meeting safety operation conditions, including weather conditions.
