CNN recently released a list of the 25 most breathtaking destinations around the globe, and among them is the UNESCO heritage site of Halong Bay in Vietnam. CNN praises this natural wonder as “a place where time slows to a standstill,” and it’s no wonder why. With thousands of emerald islets jutting out of the crystal-clear waters, Halong Bay is a true paradise for nature lovers.

To fully experience the beauty of this Southeast Asian gem, CNN recommends embarking on a cruise or renting a kayak. The best times to visit are between March and April or September to November when the weather is ideal for cruising, and rainfall is minimal.

Overnight cruise prices range from $116-228 per person, and it’s well worth the cost to witness the breathtaking beauty of Halong Bay. This incredible site was recognized as a World Heritage Site in 1994 by UNESCO, and it was even voted among the world’s seven new natural wonders by Swiss organization New Open World in 2011.

Ha Long Bay’s fame has only grown since Hollywood blockbuster “Kong: Skull Island” was filmed there in 2017. Additionally, the recent launch of Van Don International Airport has made it easier for foreign tourists to access this stunning destination.

Other incredible destinations on CNN’s list include Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in China, El Nido, a coastal town in the Philippines, and the Maldives. But for those seeking a true paradise on earth, Halong Bay is an absolute must-see.
